The Buzz
“[Amina] Edris’ performance—tonally luxuriant, dramatically changeable, inspiring equal degrees of awe and pathos—rose to the challenge in every way.”
-San Francisco Chronicle
“The cast is top-notch. Gerald Finley… as Antony offers a fine blend of fading nobility and lovesick weakness.”
-Financial Times
“Eun Sun Kim’s conducting and constant cueing of the singers is splendid, especially in the big orchestral interludes where Adams’s music takes flight.”
-The Telegraph
Synopsis
A Roman general and an Egyptian queen embark on a torrid romance, one that will disrupt alliances, end marriages, and spark a pitiless war that gives rise to a new leader, Caesar.
Cast & Creative Bios will be available on the live site.
